Thank
you for your inquiry for camping at the Fredericksburg KOA for the upcoming
2010 National Boy Scout Jamboree. We
will do our best to again accommodate the family and friends of the Boy Scouts
attending the Jamboree.
Our
KOA is located only 6 miles from the Villaboro entrance which is at the
northern end of AP Hill, and is one of the entrances used for the
Jamboree. Directional signs to and from
the Jamboree site will be posted.
Our
campground is centrally located to many interesting and exciting things to see
and do. Visit Historic Fredericksburg and four major Civil War
Battlefields, visitor centers and museums.
While in Fredericksburg Boy Scouts can earn badges by completing the
historic walking trails. For the best
collection of thrill, family, water and kids rides anywhere, don't miss Paramount’s
Kings Dominion a multi-million dollar theme Park. For transportation into D.C. ride the VRE
train out of Fredericksburg on weekdays or drive an easy 43 miles north on I 95
to catch the METRO. Either of these
trains will get you downtown where you can choose a guided tour or let Tourmobile
shuttle you around all day for a tour you design for yourself. This is just a small portion of the many
exciting things that are available from our top rated campground. We are proud
to have received KOA’s President’s award for the last 3 years, as well as have
a Trailer Life Directories rating of 8.5/9.5/8.5 and Woodalls’s WWWW.
In
order to make this a memorable experience for all, we ask for your total
cooperation. We feel it is very
important to have specific guidelines for everyone to follow, with emphasis on
supervision by the scout leaders, as our facilities will be operating at their
maximum.
It
has been our past experience that there is a tendency for the families and
troops to overbook the number of days actually needed when making
reservations. In fairness to other
families and scouts seeking reservations we must ask you to only reserve the
exact days that you will need so that we might not disappoint other scouting
families. Therefore we find it necessary
to request a 50% deposit for all nights reserved. THIS DEPOSIT IS NON-REFUNDABLE. You
will not be able to make changes to your dates without forfeiting this deposit.
For those interested in individual campsite reservations
please use the following guidelines:
1. One family,
one vehicle, one camping unit per site with a maximum of 6 persons. Kamping Kabins accommodate 4.
2. The sites will
be assigned first come, first serve.
3. We cannot
guarantee those requiring two or more sites, that they will be together,
although we will do our best.
4. Individual
campsite rates, based on 2 persons, per night:

For those interested in group camping
reservations, please use the following guidelines:
1. Group camping
is $12.00 per person, per night, plus tax.
2. Groups limited
to maximum of 20 persons.
3. The
"Buddy System" rule will apply while scouts are in the campground.
4. Each boy must
be identified as a scout by wearing a part of his uniform at all times.
5. There should
be a qualified lifesaver pool-side with each group of boys as per BSA
requirements.
6. We ask the
group leaders to stagger the numbers of boys when being sent to shower or use
the restrooms.
7. A limited
number of picnic tables will be available.
At best 1 table per group, while supply lasts.
If
you would like to make a reservation, please call our reservation desk at
800-562-1889 and ask for Boy Scout Reservations. It will also be necessary to fill out the
enclosed reservation form, for an individual site or a group reservation, and
return it to us within 10 days with your deposit. Internet Resv’s and credit card deposit’s not
accepted during the Jamboree.
